David Rabbit said that he always respond to his constituents.  Not true.  David Rabbit responds to his own special interest.

Between Pamela Torliatt and David Rabbitt?  From July to November I am hoping to see some changes in these two candidates.  Right now neither fill my expectations and there has been great disappointments from both candidates.  I must say for David Rabbitt, I think he understands the leakage in tax revenue.  I think he understands Petaluma residents' frustration for being forced to go out of town for our shopping due to bad decisions by council majority.   But David Rabbitt needs to be available to his constituents.   Like Torliatt, he has his own agenda and my experience is that if you don't fit within his plans he ignores you.  When you are in public office you need to be available to the people within your constituency.

Pamela Torliatt

Present Mayor of Petaluma

The majority on Petaluma City Council is controlled by a vocal and turbulent group with a clear agenda.  Pamela Torliatt is a member of that group and it seems that whatever they want, they get.  Example:  They drafted the cruel feral cat ordinance to get rid of cats because they say cats are nonnatives and should not be in the environment.  Council passed the ordinance.  They also want to get rid of white swans, otters, red foxes, bull frogs - anything nonnatives to Petaluma and this city council give into them time after time.  Petaluma, a city out of control.

I don't want our County Supervisor controlled the way this city has been controlled for way too long.  To think Pamela Torliatt could become County Supervisor
is scary.  Petaluma is out of control on many issues; loss of  tax revenues because people are forced to shop out of town is a major issue and after so many years on city council, I attribute this directly to Pam Torliatt and David Glass.

Pam talks, and she smiles a lot but when it comes to making decisions, she does not know you.  She turns her back and face her special friends.  I am very  disappointed with Pam Torliatt.

My issues with Petaluma politics:
  1. Too many council members are unfriendly to animals and are making decisions causing animals to suffer and die.

  2. The majority on Petaluma City Council denied Petaluma residents adequate shopping establishments in the city causing residents to drive several miles out of town to shop for bare  household necessities.  I must say that Mayor Pam Torliatt is a front runner to oppose new businesses in town - year after year.  This has caused us, Petaluma residents, extra expenses and waste of time on the road, pollution, stress and etc . . .  Not to mention loss of tax revenue to this city.
I have been remodeling a two story 4 bedrooms, 3 baths house since late 2009.  I was brought to tears with stress and frustration because of time loss and the extra expenses to drive to Rohnert Park and Santa Rosa almost daily.   I cursed city  council every day for depriving Petaluma residents decent stores to shop local and forcing me to drive out of town.   Petaluma is a city out of control and we need to overhaul our local government.

Surprisingly,
(considering it is election year it is not surprising)  a few weeks ago  council approved a new shopping center after years of denials and lawsuits.

So, who do you vote for?  Look for write-in candidates?   Might be a better choice than what we have to deal with.

THE CANDIDATES:

Sonoma County Superior
Court Judges:

We need kind and gentle judges in our courtrooms. We need one that will be fair and make judgements according to laws and not social status.

One that will bring justice to the people - that will get criminals off the streets and punish the wrong doers - One that will protect the rights of victims and have the wisdom to know the difference.

We need firm but fair judges in Sonoma County and I believe Pat Broderick is the best candidates for Superior Court Judge.

Note About Sonoma County Superior Court Judge

Make no mistake about it,   John LemMon is not the right person to judge in any courtroom.   I don't think that John LemMon is suitable to make any  decision for anyone.   To vote a Superior Judge into office is a very serious affair and if you want justice in the courtroom , say NO to John LemMon.

John LemMon was arbitrator twice in two separate cases in Sandalwood Estates / Homeowners of Sandalwood.  John LemMon raised the rent for senior and elderly on fixed income more than 60% - disregarding the law that authorized no more than cpi increase.

Fortunately, both increases were reversed by other judges who knew the laws.

But Sandalwood homeowners did not forget John LemMon, the only arbitrator to side with the greedy park owner in nine years and probably as many arbitrations.

Say "NO" to John LemMon!

UP

I am a senior citizen and Petaluma has been my home for the past 35 years.  I love Petaluma.  It is a wonderful City with plenty of history and wonderful people.  Like everything else or anywhere else, politics is not perfect in Petaluma.  Sometimes a group of people can govern a city and if no one pays attention, bad regulations can become laws.

It happened in Petaluma in 2004 when a group of people with too much influence with City Council drafted an ordinance that Council passed unanimously.  The result has been high cost to the City and citizens of Petaluma and the death of hundreds innocent  animals.   You can find out more here: Petaluma Feral Cats
