"The park owners either need to be
criminally indicted or have a civil lawsuit brought against them for
elder abuse and unfair business practices." "A lot of tenants
will die, or move out of the park and the Bay Area," said
attorney Joseph Smith. "Several have had strokes during the
arbitration process. Someone has to intervene. I can't do
it alone." (Joseph Smith, San Francisco Attorney speaking of
Patrick Smith and Bill Feeney who
leased Sandalwood Estates in 2001 and began to take homewoners to
arbitration for rent increases over 100% each year)
In the
past nine years, John LemMon
was arbitrator twice for Sandalwood Estates and both
times sided with landowners with
large rent increases to seniors and elderly homeowners. The
only arbitrator to side with the
landowners.
Fortunately for the homeowners, judges denied these excessive increases
each time.
Read about the attack on me
and my dog at Sandalwood Estates
Yet John LemMon sided with Sandalwood Estates landowner twice.
On
May 9, 2002, an arbitration decision made by arbitrator
Leland Dibble, denied Feeney and Smith their
demand to raise the rent for more
than 6%, what is allowed by city Ordinance Section
6.50.040A. In Findings of
Fact, Mr. Dibble
justly stated: "Landowners
appear to have overpaid in terms of lease payment for the property,
and thus the tenants cannot be burdened with that miscalculation."
Yet,
John LemMon sided with landowners twice.
Although
I was not affected by LemMon decisions, I was present and observed his
demeanor in the 2008 arbitration and I can only describe him as
arrogant - and that's better choice of word than I heard others
describe him. To experience a person at his profession, one
can really judge his competency and honesty.
I think a vote for John LemMon is a serious mistake that we may regret
later.
Most
Sonoma County residents do not know
John LemMon and reading his website or watching a debate, he appears
confident and qualified to be a
Superior Court Judge. But a group of senior citizens in
Petaluma knows John LemMon very
well. We know that John LemMon's description of himself does not
tell the true story of who he is. I think John LemMon will side
with businesses all the time. NOT FAIR! NOT ETHICAL!
It is WRONG!
Vote
very carefully in November. If you want fairness in our Sonoma
County courtrooms, the better candidate is Pat
Broderick.
In a letter to editor published in the Press Democrat, Superior Court Judge Mark Tansil strongly
endorsed Pat
Broderick for judge.

knows better)

KGO Radio Talk Show Host, Len Tillem endorses John LemMon. Len
Tillem is an entertainer and an attorney. Len
Tillem and John LemMon are neighbors and Len have been promoting John
LemMon for several years. He invited him as a guest on his show on many
occasions. Whatever friendship between these two - I don't
know. What I know is that Len Tillem is wrong about John LemMon.
I don't think the average person
has any chance of justice in a courtroom with John LemMon as the
judge. Ask the homeowners at Sandalwood
and read about the character of
the landowner and management at Sandalwood Estates
John LemMon was the only arbitrator to grant park owners large
increases (twice) which were invalidated both times. It became
clear very early during arbitration procedure that the elderly had no
chance with LemMon and he was simply trying to please the business
person.

I am a senior citizen and Petaluma has been
my home for the past 37
years. I love Petaluma. It is a wonderful City with plenty
of history and wonderful people. Like everything else or anywhere
else, politics is not perfect in Petaluma. Sometimes a group of
people can govern a city and if no one pays attention, bad regulations
can become laws.
It happened in Petaluma in 2004 when a
group of people with too much
influence with City Council drafted an ordinance that Council passed
unanimously. The result has been high cost to the City and
citizens of Petaluma and the death of hundreds innocent animals.

THE CANDIDATES:
Sonoma County
Superior
Court Judges:
We
need kind and gentle judges in our courtrooms. We need one that will be
fair and make judgements according to laws and not social
status.
One that will bring justice to the people - that will get
criminals off the streets and punish the wrong doers - One that will
protect the rights of victims without discrimination.
We need firm but fair
judges in Sonoma County and I believe Pat
Broderick is the best
candidates for Superior Court Judge.
